Winter Woolies Winter Appeal

On Wednesday, 31 August, our staff and children were invited to dress in their Winter Woolies. This was to raise awareness of, and resources for, those families that are going cold this winter. Families and staff donated a huge number of jumpers, blankets, jackets, beanies and boots. These items were donated to various local and state charity organisations. Thank you to everyone who supported this event.

Languages Performances

On 31 August, we were entertained by students showcasing some of their learning from their Languages classes.

Students from Year 1 and 2 used Auslan to sign “I Can Sing A Rainbow” and “Miss Polly Had a Dolly”.

Students from Years 3 to 6 shared their knowledge about South African culture by dancing the Gumboot dance. Before the class performances, the Year 5 students explained that these dances were inspired by the cultural dances of the African workers who worked the mines. This dance was used to communicate in the mines as there was strictly no talking allowed. A big thank you to Mrs Maartens for organising these special performances.

The Pre-Primary and Year 1 classes attended an excursion to Miss Lock’s farm on Friday the 9 August 2024. They had a wonderful day with Miss Rutter, Miss Annear, Miss Bloxham and Mrs Williams catching tadpoles, looking at farm machinery, feeding lambs and building huts. They even had a sausage sizzle!
