A Walk Through Disney Musical Showcase

We were so proud of all of our beautiful students as they brought Disney to life last term. A huge thank you to everyone who helped bring our showcase together, especially Miss McCormack. Thanks to the generosity of our audience, we were able to raise $527.95 for Divine You and St Vincent de Paul.

First Holy Communion

Congratulations to our First Holy Communicants who celebrated the sacrament on 16 June. It was lovely to see how excited they were to take this next step in their faith journey.

Pre-Primary NAIDOC Celebrations

On Friday, the lovely Telona (Jarrod’s Mum) came to visit our class. Miss Telona shared and allowed us all to experience her cultural heritage. We learnt about the Torres Strait Islander people and where they originated from and  their traditional food. We cooked a Simor Chicken recipe and a fried scone/fry bread. Telona spoke about the story of Tagai, a great fisherman and spirit being whom the Torres Strait Islander peoples believe created the world. Tagai is represented by a constellation of stars in the southern sky. The students then drew the constellations of stars on black paper with crayons creating their own masterpiece. Once again, thank you so much Telona for sharing your cultural heritage with us. We loved it all!

Pre-Primary Excursion

The Pre-Primary class went on a journey to investigate our local Narrogin community. The students got to walk past and discuss the important places we have around the town and why we have these amazing shops/businesses in our town. They saw the bank, the chemist, stopped at the post office to get Miss Lock’s mail and saw some lovely people exercising at Remedy Pilates/Physio. They saw the Reject Shop and the Museum. They finally reached the Fortune Street Bakery where the students practised their amazing manners and everyone got to choose a treat from the yummy bakery. They then continued to the R.W. (Bob) Farr Memorial Library, before they met Nelly the Numbat. Nelly the Numbat used some sign language and shared a song. The students also received a Better Beginnings pack and a free book from the Library! They all thoroughly enjoyed the trip around our community.
