Kindy and Karinya – together again

On Thursday, our Kindy friends welcomed Karinya Residents back to St Matthew’s.  A film crew recorded the interactions between the residents and the Kindy students as they painted, made fruit kebabs and read story books together. This will form part of a promotional video that will be shared among Catholic Education Schools in WA.

St Matthew’s Parish Celebration

On Sunday, the Parish held a special celebration to acknowledge our Feast Day. Following a beautiful Mass that highlighted new Parish families, the parishioners were invited to walk over to St Matt’s to take part in a shared picnic. Thank you to Mark Collins and Sr Sahaya for hosting this lovely afternoon.

Paint the Town Read

Our Kindy friends had a great outing to the Town Hall last week for the “Paint the Town Read” event. And what a surprise to see a numbat hatch from the egg! The children were gorgeous and enjoyed listening to the story and the songs.

First Reconciliation

Congratulations to Totoa, Morgane, Vien, Adrian, Estella, Hamish, Iyana and Emerson who completed their first Reconciliation on Wednesday 8 September. They all did a beautiful job and Father Jay said they were very well prepared. The children were presented with their certificates on Sunday 12 September.

Year 1 Jungle Assembly

On Friday, the Year 1 class entertained a large audience with their Jungle-themed story and song. We had leopards, cheetahs, gorillas and snakes on stage. All of the children sang beautifully and said that they really enjoyed performing for their mums, dads and grandparents.
