Swimming Carnival

The annual Faction Swimming Carnival was held at Narrogin Leisure Centre on Tuesday 9 March, for students in Years 3 to 6. A huge thank you must go to all the parent volunteers who gave up their time to make it an especially memorable day for the students. The day was filled with deafening cheering as the children encouraged their team mates in the water. After some epic chants this year, the Spirit Trophy was awarded to Gibney for their organisation and sportsmanship on the day.
There was something for everyone at the 2021 carnival including treasure hunts, kickboard races, dance offs, 100m Freestyle, 50m relays and the inaugural parent/teacher/Year 6 race! We certainly have some amazing swimming talent in all the factions and this year McFall took the win, just

Project Compassion

During the season of Lent, we are encouraged to think of those who are less fortunate than us. Project Compassion boxes were sent home and families and kids were encouraged to donate to Caritas. We now request that these are returned to school to add to our combined efforts as a school to help people both here in Australia and overseas in extreme poverty and support charitable programs seeking to make a difference. Please give generously.

Tennis

On Wednesday 10 March, a group of 12 St Matthew’s students attended the Sunsmart Schools’ Country Classic Tennis Competition in Narrogin. All 3 teams played some outstanding tennis and showed tremendous improvement over the course of the day. Their tennis etiquette was fantastic and I felt very proud to be the attending teacher on the day. A big thank you to Mrs George and Mrs deWaal for their assistance on a very tiring, hot day!

Art Award

Congratulations to Aadhya  (Year 3) for receiving the Art Award for her beautiful colour wheel. Well done, Aadhya!
