School Vision

St Matthew’s School empowers children to embrace life-long learning and grow and develop as God intends.

“It is Christmas every time you let God love others through you…
yes, it is Christmas every time you smile at your brother and
offer him your hand.”
– Mother Teresa

Dear Parents and Carers

Walt Disney once said, You can dream, create, design and build the most wonderful ideas in the world, but it requires people to make the dream a reality’.

The reality is that the learning experiences and projects that have taken place this year at St Matthew’s, could not have happened without a great deal of commitment and support from the staff, parents and students. Thank you all, for your contributions to our lovely school.

To our departing staff, families and students; whatever you strive for, whatever you do, whatever your lot in life, give it your very best. Make the most of it, be positive, choose to be happy and thank God for each new day. To our returning staff, students and families, we look forward to embarking on the journey of the 2020 school year with you all.

When I reflect on my time as principal of what I consider to be an awesome school, I have many fond memories. All the experiences of this year have contributed is some way to ensuring we offer our students the best education. I believe we have a unique place for students to learn in a safe and loving environment.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as Principal and member of the Parish community of St Matthew’s School over the past two years.  I will take with me many fond memories, and more importantly, solid friendships, as I move on to new challenges in 2020.

Thank you to all our St Matthew’s families who continue to promote St Matthew’s in a positive manner. I wish all students, staff and families a very Happy Christmas, a safe and restful break, and many blessings for a wonderful future ahead.

God bless

May you be blessed this Advent as you focus on the past – remembering Jesus coming to earth as a baby, the present – seeking a growing relationship with him every day, and the future – being aware of thesecond coming of Jesus to the earth in glory (at a time unknown to us). May Jesus bless you and your

families and keep you safe over the seasons of Advent and Christmas.

What a fabulous year it has been in Pre-Primary!!! We have had so many wonderful memories it is too many to mention.

I would like to thank all the wonderful parents who have been so supportive and helpful. The children have loved seeing you at school, and I have greatly appreciated your help – both big and small. But, mostly I want to thank all the Pre-Primary children for being such enthusiastic learners, and kind and helpful little classmates … ALL year! It has been such a pleasure spending time with each and every one of you.  I would like to wish our Pre-Primary families a very Merry Christmas and a relaxing, joyful New Year, with lots of new and “wonder-filled” things to happen for all.

With love, plus lots of Christmas cheer.
